Carinus, 283-285. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 5.87 g, 7 h), Siscia, 283. IMP C M AVR CARINVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carinus to left, seen from behind, holding spear in his right hand and shield, decorated with winged horse galloping left, on his left shoulder. Rev. ORIENS AVGG Sol, radiate and nude but for chlamys, standing front, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left; in field to right, star. Calicó 4350 (same dies). Very rare. A beautiful coin with an impressive bust type and a very long history. Plugged hole at 11 o'clock on the obverse and with minor scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
